Acne Treatment Gel

When people see an acne treatment gel they automatically assume that these gels are no different than the common acne creams on the market. This is a wildly inaccurate assessment as an acne gel often revolves around a different process than the common creams that are employed. For example, a topical gel is often sold as a two pronged "assault" on problem acne by splitting the delivery of the acne treatment gel into a daytime composition as well as a nighttime composition.

A repairing day acne treatment gel uses the common pimple combating compound known as Salicylic acid. This is often combined with other ingredients with the most common being aloe. This compound seems to work best during the day hours as they can aid in reversing the onset of the shedding of skin cells while aiding in the unclogging of pores. This, of course, will greatly aid in the prevention of the formation of new pimples. While many become overly concerned with eliminating those pimples that are already present it is also critical to keep new pimples from forming. After all, would you not want an acne treatment gel that only offers a singular approach as it would only be half-effective.

Conversely, the common nighttime treatment gel will contain the ingredient Benzoyl Preoxide. This is probably the most common acne fighting ingredient as it is the most powerful over the counter product that can kill the bacteria the kill acne. Additionally, the Benzoyl Peroxide that is found in an acne treatment gel also aids in reducing the production of oil in the pores and oil is, of course, a major cause of clogged pores.

Of course, not every acne treatment gel does not offer a two pronged approach and then they are those types of gel that do not use the common ingredients of Salicylic acid or Benzoyl Preoxide and opt to use natural ingredients instead. This will eventually lead to questions regarding which type of acne treatment gel is better than the other. Ultimately, the answer will lie in the results but if one wishes to avoid a disappointing experience it may be best to stick with the two pronged acne treatment gel. If it does not yield the eventual result that you desire then it may be best to switch to something else, but it would be wise to at least start there since it brings the most potential for success.
